How to Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 with Redsn0w
Step 1: Update your device to iOS 5.1.1, if you haven’t already.

Step 4: Now click on Back button in Redsn0w. Then click on “Jailbreak” button from redsn0w home screen.
Step 5: Connect your device with the computer and switch it off. Then click the Next button.
Step 6: Redsn0w will ask you to put your device in DFU mode and will display the instructions on how to do it. Follow the instructions.
Step 7: Once your device enters DFU mode, redsn0w will process the jailbreak. You can just be a spectator as redsn0w does its thing.
Step 8: When process is complete, your device will reboot. You will notice a white icon titled Cydia on iPhone home screen.
Cydia icon is white because its a tethered jailbreak, and you have to boot your device in tethered mode in order for Cydia to function.
Step 9: In redsnow, move to Extras and click on “Just Boot”.
Step 10: Put your device in DFU mode.
Redsn0w will boot your device in tethered mode soon as it detects the DFU. Once your device boots up, you will see the Cydia icon. Your device has been jailbroken.
