How to Use TaiG 2 to Jailbreak iOS 8.3 on iPhone / iPad Air

The recently released TaiG 2.0 lets you jailbreak iPhone 6 8.3, iPad Air 2 8.3 as well as older devices running on iOS 8.3 / 8.2.x or 8.1.3. This is huge development as we have not seen a public jailbreak since iOS 8.1.2. But now this easy to use tool lets many of eagerly awaiting users to jailbreak their devices. The tool is only available for Windows as of now but a Mac OS X version is expected to be released soon. We are posting a detailed step by step guide here that will help you along the process. Just follow the steps given below and you will be able to successfully jailbreak iPhone 6 8.3 as well as 6 Plus and all other supported devices.

How to Jailbreak iOS 8.3 on iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, iPad Air 2

Before you Begin:

  • Jailbreaking your device is not recommended by Apple and it may void the warranty of your device
  • Backup all your important data before you start the process
  • Download iOS 8.3 and do a fresh restore (recommended)
  • Make sure you are running iTunes 12.0.1 – NOT 12.1

Step 1: Download the jailbreak tool for Windows: TaiGJBreak_EN_2000.zip and unzip the downloaded file.

Step 2: On your device, disable the passcode / Touch ID. To do this:

  1. Launch Settings on your device
  2. Tap on Touch ID & Passcode
  3. Now tap on “Turn Passcode Off”
  4. Enter your passcode again

Step 3: Disable “Find My iPhone”. To do this:

  1. Launch Settings
  2. Then navigate to iCloud > Find My iPhone
  3. Disable “Find My iPhone”.

Step 4: Connect your device to the PC using the USB cable and double click the TaiGJBreak_EN.exe to launch it.

Fix the error: Apple driver hasn’t been found. Please download and install iTunes.



TaiG will detect the connected device and show you the following options:

Step 5: Keep Cydia option checked – that’s the real reason you’re jailbreaking your device, eh? 3K Assistant is optional so you can uncheck it before continuing.

Step 6: Now click on “Start” button to kick off the process.

Now TaiG will start the process to Jailbreak iOS 8.3 on the connected device. It will keep you updated along the process and you will see a percentage number which will give you some idea on how long it might take. Wait for the process to complete. Once done, TaiG will display the success message. You can then unplug your device from the PC and start using it.
