Fix v1.5 Crashes: Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined

Cyberpunk 1.5 next gen update was released last week. The much awaited update received positive mostly reviews from users. The update included a long list of bug fixes, enhancements and a few updates that made the game bit more playable. But the bugs just won’t give up.

For some users – after installing the Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 update, the game is crashing. The game installs without any issues but soon as you launch it, it would quit and an error message is show.

The error message reads:

Whoa! Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined.

We have created this anonymous error report, which you can send our way to help us fix the problem in the near dark future.

Whoa! Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined.

The reason why Cyberpunk crashes on PC

For some very odd reason, the game is crashing due to an audio driver. If you have Nahimic audio installed and enabled on your PC, the game will most likely crash. It’s a shame because Nahimic audio enables surround sound and enhances overall gaming experience.

Fix the Flatlined Cyberpunk 2077

Once you identify the problem, the fix is fairly straightforward.

Step 1: Open task manager

Step 2: Go to “Services” tab

Step 3: Look for a service named “NahimicService

Step 4: Right click on Nahimic service and click “Stop”.

This will stop the service.

Now launch the game again. It will work fine now. Did so for me.

Disable NahimicService

No Nahimic service found on your PC?

Nahimic service is found on most MSI laptops. Check your hardware to see if there is an alternate audio driver like dolby or realtek. Try disabling it and see if it works.

Remember that the service will automatically start if you restart your PC. So you will have to stop it again. If you do not need the service, you can disable it from loading at the startup. Then you will not have to stop and every time your PC boots.
